Arabisk Mau kat
History
The Arabian Mau cat is a very old natural breed. This breed developed on its own in the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula. Over time they moved to the cities as human infrastructure encroached on their natural habitat. They are very well adapted to the heat as they have no undercoat, and large ears which help to dissipate the heat. Breeding programmes were developed in 2004 to try and preserve the Arabian Mau’s original traits and hardiness.
Behaviour
The Arabian Mau cat breed is a breed with a large playful character. You are most likely to find this cat being active and exploring outside. They have a very playful nature and will need plenty of mental stimulation. They tend to be more active at night as desert life means sleeping in the day and being active at night to avoid the powerful arabian sun. This is a lovely breed to have around the house as they will provide plenty of entertainment through their active nature.
Varieties
Many self colours, and patterns including tabby and bicolour.
