Ojos Azules kat

History
The birthplace of the Ojos Azules cats is New Mexico. Cats with dark blue eyes were discovered in the feral cat population - the first of which was a tortoiseshell female called Cornflower discovered in 1984.
Breeding Cornflower with males who didn’t possess the same dark blue eyes produced kittens who did have the distinctive eyes. This made it clear that the trait was dominant and the breed was founded. The name that was chosen “Ojos Azules” is Spanish which translates to “Blue Eyes”.
Behaviour
Ojos Azules is currently very rare so the characteristic behaviours of the breed are not well documented. That said it has been reported that this is a well mannered breed which is both active and affectionate.
Varieties
Comes in lots of colours and patterns but must always have dark blue eyes.
